June 2020 Update

All,

I hope everyone is doing well and staying safe. On our end, the entire team at Infinitum Electric has remained COVID-free, we have policies in place to keep it that way, and even with a few COVID-related delays, we’ve worked hard to stay on track.

Please see our product overview deck and more details below:

Product Launch – HVAC Plenum Fans

Within the next 45 days we’ll hit the huge milestone of shipping our first motor, and by the end of 2020, we will have ramped production on the entire suite of 2.5HP – 15HP electrically commutated (EC) motors for the plenum fan market. We’ll deliver more than 7,500 units over the next 24 months. These integrated motors will include the only commercially-available variable frequency drive (VFD) that uses high-efficiency Silicon Carbide (SiC) inverters. Every motor will be cloud connected, providing critical operation data and enabling remote firmware updates (just like Tesla).

Growing Team

Our new VP of Engineering, Mark Arlitt, brings decades of engineering leadership experience from Pratt and Whitney, Deaton Engineering and most recently iFly, where he led the engineering team from conception through to successful exit.

Shams Shaikh also joins our team as Director of Product. He is a Stanford-educated Mechanical Engineer who has worked for motor start-ups for most of his career. He uniquely understands every specification related to motors and how they apply to the real world.

Product Pipeline

We’re gaining traction in markets outside HVAC as well, with a few purchase agreements already signed.

  • Electric vehicle (propulsion and auxiliary motors): We were “strongly encouraged” for an ARPA-E grant that will allow us to produce a 250kW propulsion motor that is 12kW/kg, which would be the most power dense motor in the world and applicable to the majority of EVs (aerospace, auto, marine, etc). Exciting times and likely the future of Infinitum!
  • Fans, compressors, and pumps: These three applications represent the largest segment for motors with the highest growth rates. Beyond plenum fans, we have purchase agreements in place with a few multi-national OEMs.
  • Residential appliances: We’re early in the process but have trial agreements with a few of the largest appliance manufacturers in the world looking to our quiet motors to help them keep up with current demand to reduce audible noise.
  • Hazardous motor markets: The inherent spark proof design of our motors, combined with their size and efficiency differentiators, positions us well for hazardous motor applications in the oil and gas market and others.

We’re excited for the future and are appreciative of everyone’s support! Please reach out if you have questions or would like additional information.
